New York’s public and private medical schools play an important role in the state’s economy, with a total estimated economic impact of nearly $35 billion.
“The pandemic highlighted what could no longer be ignored: the suffering of young people,” shares Dr. Warren Ng, director of clinical services for child and adolescent psychiatry at CUIMC.
Adam Brickman, a professor of neuropsychology CUIMC and the study’s senior author, said the research group wanted to understand when those racial and ethnic disparities began to manifest in the brain.
